Platform Updates
Prorating Products In Advance [Critical!]
Datagate is now able to prorate “__ in Advance” products!
For example, let’s say you onboard a customer on March 15th and would like to add a Product that should be billed “One Month in Advance” starting on March 15. Now, when you go to generate that first invoice at the end of March, two transactions will be generated for this product:
March 15 - March 31 (prorated charges) & April 1 - April 30
Similarly, the same logic applies for products “Two Months in Advance” and “Three Months in Advance.”
To enable this, you will see a new checkbox in the invoice generation screen.
Please note: This will affect new customers and new products assigned to customers where the start date is in the month prior to the billing.
New UI for Bundle Management
You’ll see a new item in the main menu called “Bundles.” You can now use this page to create usage bundles (ex. minute buckets) directly from your portal.
This not only allows you to create new bundles but also lets you have greater control over your existing bundles.
Look out for documentation that covers this in more detail coming soon.
ConnectWise Integration
Remembering Agreements Export Selections
To make exporting to ConnectWise Agreements even easier, Datagate will now remember your selections in all steps of the invoice exporting screen.
The next time you go to export, you’ll find your previous selections already picked.
Taxes
Tax Inclusive Surcharges
Similar to tax-inclusive product charges, you can now also have tax-inclusive surcharges. The pre-tax amount (rather than the full amount) will be a part of the invoice subtotal similar to tax-exclusive surcharges.
Product Tax Breakdown per Invoice [US Resellers Only]
When viewing invoices in detail, tax amounts for each product are now also broken down in the Products tab.
Quoter Integration
One-off charges
One-off charges that are part of accepted quotes will now create one-off product transactions in Datagate.
Discounts
Product level discounts can now also be added from accepted quotes. When a quote with a discount is accepted, the discount is applied to the product price in Datagate.
Payments
Xero Sync
Full and partial payments in Xero will sync over Datagate and update the corresponding invoice to Paid or Partially Paid status.
