Platform Updates
More Checks and Balances
We continue to add even more checks and balances to Datagate to prevent errors during invoice generation.
Now, you’ll automatically be stopped when trying to delete data that is referenced by other settings in the system.
This includes information such as Customer Sites, Tax Codes, Product Categories, GL Codes and more.
New Dashboard Widget
You’ll notice a new widget on the dashboard that gives you a quick overview of invoices that are sent unsuccessfully.
Use Product Templates for Price Books
You can now use Product Templates to quickly create products for price books.
Round Taxes (non-USA)
You can now set Datagate to automatically round taxes for product transactions to two decimal places. This will be particularly useful if you export invoices to Xero or QuickBooks Online.
If you export to ConnectWise, please leave this option off.
You can access this option in the portal settings.
Note: this does not apply to US telecom taxes.
Import Bundles
You can now import minute bundles in bulk with a CSV file, similar to other import options in Datagate. Access this new option under the Import tab.
Quoter Integration
Cancel Quotes
As we continue to enhance the Quoter integration, you can now “Cancel” quotes that you do not want to accept in Datagate.
This will permanently remove the quote from the quotes table.
Company Name
The quotes table will now also display the Company Name for each quote along with the Customer Name.
QuickBooks Online Integration
Exporting Invoices
If you try to export an invoice to QuickBooks Online that already exists, Datagate will stop and display an error message to avoid duplication.
The error message will also note the invoice number that failed to export for your reference.
SureTax Integration
Default Report
If you have an integration to the CCH SureTax tax engine configured in Datagate, there will automatically be a default tax report now available under the Reports tab.
This report will give you a detailed breakdown of taxes calculated by period per customer.
ConnectWise Integration
Export to Invoiced CW Agreement
Datagate will stop and alert you during export if you try to export an invoice to an agreement that has already been invoiced, preventing duplication.
Quickly Filter Exported Invoices
You can now quickly filter invoices that have already been exported to ConnectWise in the Action Invoices tab. To do so, click the dropdown under the “CW Exported” column.
Import Product Categories
When synchronizing products from ConnectWise to Datagate, you can now also choose to import the Product Category fields.
Access this in the ConnectWise integration settings.
