Datagate Services Team | April 6, 2022
Release Notes is our update that highlights recent product improvements we’ve made so you can easily stay up to date on what’s new.
💡What's New?
💳 New Payment Gateway
Moneris Integration (Canadian Resellers)
Datagate now integrates with the popular Canadian payment processor, Moneris. This new integration allows our Canadian customers to collect CAD payments at the most competitive processing rates.
You can configure this integration from the integration settings page, allowing your customers to make one-off credit card payments or store their credit card on file for automatic processing from the admin portal.
💻 Platform Updates
Single Sign-On (SSO)
You can now allow your staff to log on to your Datagate billing portal via Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
The new field on the login page allows users to enter a company name to be redirected to the SSO authentication page (if SSO is configured).
If the user does not already exist in Datagate but is authenticated, Datagate will create an account for them automatically.
To enable SSO, head to the settings page, select “Single Sign-On” and configure your SAML and Role settings.
Disable Tax Generation for International Customers [US and Canada Resellers ONLY]
If you have customers or customer sites outside of the USA and Canada and do not want the Tax Engine to calculate taxes for that site, please do the following:
- Ensure "Use Site’s Zip/Postal Codes for Tax Engine" is checked
- Ensure the site's "Country" is populated
eBills - Product Labels
You can now tell Datagate to display the description from the eBill on the customer's invoice in the Datagate portal. Previously Datagate will have done this for you.
To do this, from Rating menu, edit a Pricebook and choose the Products tab. Select the Product, and move the Product Label slider to the left.
If you use the Import/Pricebooks feature, please leave the Product Label blank to use the eBill Product Label.
Use the Product label from Datagate:

Import Product Template Assignments
You no longer have to specify the Product's tax code when using the menu Import/Product Templates Assignment. The tax code will be picked up from the existing Datagate Product Template.
Service Item Type is remembered
You can choose a Service item Type, for example: "Toll Free", and that setting will be remembered while you edit Service Items on that screen.
🖊IT Quoter Integration
Datagate now integrates with the popular MSP quoting tool, ITQuoter.
Accept Quotes
Approved quotes are automatically pulled from ITQuoter and made available to be accepted within Datagate.
You can accept quotes to automatically create a new customer and add monthly recurring charges, one-off product charges, and product kits (bundles).
Quotes can also be accepted against existing customers to add new products, services, and one-off charges.
Head to the integration settings page to configure this integration and view quotes.
⏰ QuickBooks Desktop Integration
Synchronization Log
You’ll see a new tab called “Synchronization Log” in the QuickBooks Desktop settings page. This tab will allow you to keep track of any errors that occur during the customer synchronization process.
Default Sales Tax Code
Typically Datagate invoices are imported into Quickbooks Desktop with a Sales Tax code of "Non". In this new release, you can set a sales tax code (typically NON) as the default and you will not have to specify for each product.
🦉 ConnectWise Integration
Exporting to Agreements
When exporting to ConnectWise agreements, Agreement Type and Agreement Name are remembered.
Next time you run the export, the Agreement type will default to the last choice, and Agreement Name will default to the last ConnectWise Agreement for the Agreement you're exporting.
Sync Agreements with no Products
There is a new option in Settings/ConnectWise Manage Details to allow you to import CW agreements into Datagate for a CW customer, even if there are no additions on that agreement. This option is only relevant if you have selected "Enable Products Sync", and "Use Default Agreement" is OFF.
By default "Sync Agreements without Products" is OFF, meaning that the CW agreement will only import if there are Additions on that agreement.
Examples of Use Cases where "Sync Agreements without Products" is ON:
- You are billing usage only, and do not have recurring charges (Products) for one or some customers.
- You are working on a new implementation of ConnectWise and want an agreement for each customer so you can import Service Items into Datagate while you add additions to your CW Agreements
Contact Email from Agreement
Datagate can now automatically pull your customer’s billing contact info from the synchronized ConnectWise agreement.
There is a new option in the ConnectWise integration page labeled “Synchronize Agreement Invoicing Settings”.
Enabling this option will synchronize the billing contact email, first name, and last name from the ConnectWise Agreement. This option is disabled for existing resellers.
Disable Datagate Default Agreement
If you are synchronizing products and agreements from ConnectWise, you can now disable Datagate automatically creating Default Agreements for your customers.
Head to the Portal settings page and check “Do not Create Default Agreement” to disable automatic Default Agreements when creating new customers.
Sync Product Kits
You can now specify Product Kits in ConnectWise to be synchronized to Datagate.
A new “Kit” custom parameter is added to ConnectWise products.
Enabling this and synchronizing the product to Datagate will match the ConnectWise item to a Product Kit in Datagate. Datagate will automatically match the ConnectWise Product ID to a Product Kit.
Please create a custom field in ConnectWise, “Kit” as below:
Important note: The kit price is determined from the Kit Template in Datagate. Please ensure the ConnectWise product price match
