Usage and eBill Processing
Moving Usage
Datagate can push un-invoiced usage to the following Billing Period. This could be useful if some of your usage was delayed from a Supplier/carrier, and your invoice went to your Customer before the last day or so was received. The usage will be moved if the invoice has been generated for the period, it will move to the following period when importing.
To enable, check the box on the Settings/ Portal screen:
Rate Cards Assigned to Products
If your process is to assign Service Items and a rate card to a Product, you can now display the Rate Card in the Products tab of the Customer, and drill down to the Rate Card from that screen:
Note: do not change your existing process.
In Advance
Datagate now considers the "In Advance" settings when processing Bundles (minute/usage buckets).
- For example, if the Product has a start date of May 1, and is "One Month in Advance", the usage for April will now be bundled.
Mobile/Data Bundles
Data bundles can now be rolled over to a new Billing Period, and Mobile packs for a set number of days is supported. More documentation coming shortly.
eBills
You can now assign a Bundle to a PriceBook Product, and that Bundle will be applied to relevant Usage:
Service Items
If you click on the Customer Name from the Service Items menu, you will now be taken to the Customer page.
USA/Canada only - Tax inclusive Usage
Usage can now be considered tax-inclusive by checking the box on the Customer Details tab:
Currency
There is a new Currency field on a Customer, and a system-wide default currency. At this stage, this is used for the following purposes:
- If you have an interface to Stripe, and you have Customers in multiple currencies, Datagate will send the currency to Stripe
- As a field that can be displayed on an invoice
π¨ Note: Datagate does not do currency conversions at the time of writing, May 2024. If you have Customers that are invoiced in different currencies, please contact Datagate before implementing.
Bundles
Bundles (minute/usage buckets) can now be run over multiple periods. Contact support for more details.

π― Alpha Release:
ConnectWise changes importing to Datagate
We have done development so that changes made in ConnectWise - such as changing the quantity on an agreement addition - can be set to update Datagate in near-real-time.
This means last minute changes made at billing time will be reflected in Datagate almost immediately, so you can continue with your billing process. The regular update will continue to run overnight.
Right now, this enhancement has passed our internal QA, and is being tested in some sandboxes. We expect full release by the next sprint.
AutoBill - Take Payments
Functionality for Auto-billing has been extended to take payments.
This is for Users that take payments for invoices in the Datagate portal. We expect full release shortly.
