This article will show you how to manage customers and sites with HaloPSA.
Overview
HaloPSA is expected to be the Master record for customer information. Address, email etc changes in HaloPSA will flow through to Datagate.
How to import a HaloPSA customer into Datagate
- Create the customer as usual in HaloPSA
- In the "Custom Fields" tab, set "Datagate" to "Yes" (check the box).
- If HaloPSA Product Sync is enabled, the customer will import into Datagate the next time the sync runs. If you don't have HaloPSA Product Sync, or you want to import the customer immediately, in Datagate choose "Customers" menu, click the Gears icon, the HaloPSA icon, and Confirm. All customers will be updated.
- The HaloPSA field is populated in Datagate. This is used to connect the customers in HaloPSA and Datagate. If this field is populated, changes to the customer name will flow through to Datagate.
- Note: If the customer does not have a HaloPSA id (for example you typed in the customer information using the Datagate portal), it remains Active in Datagate after the sync. However invoices will not export to Halo without a "Halo id".
How to match an existing Datagate customer with an existing HaloPSA customer
